Combining rockabilly sound of the 80s, the fastest Psychobilly together with country, surf and punk rock, The Hellhates was formed in their hometown Murcia (Spain) in 2004. His first works were: 2005 » Fuckin and The Hellhates «, 2008 » Sabado en la noche » and 2010 » Del norte al sur «, from which was recorded the first videoclip of the main single » Del norte al sur». With these several national tours were done, sharing stage with international bands such as: Demented are Go, Koffin Kats, The Silver Shine, The Headless Horseman, Tin Cans, and national bands as Obus, Lagartija Nick and several collaborations as band for Carlos Segarra (Los Rebeldes).
In 2011 the second compilation of Spanish rockabilly was published by the label Rebelbilly with the tittle » Sesiones de Rockabilly Español» featuring 28 national bands including The Hellhates with the single » Solo tres copas «.
Their most elaborated work comes in 2015 with the limited edition record «Con la muerte en los talones», it was the advance of their first long play album » From the Roots to the Edge «, recorded at PM recordings in Murcia featuring several collaborations from the best musicians of the region. It was presented in 2016 in a long tour through spanish venues and festivals, playing with bands such as: Dead Bronco, Al Dual, Pike Cavalero, Ati Edge and The Shadow Birds, The Barroom Budies, Folsom Prison Band, repeating with Demented Are Go and The Silver Shine.
At the end of that year the Japanese label Rude Runne Records gets in touch with the band for publishing their last work in Japan. The band decides to do it but with a limited edition of the record with 3 unpublished bonus track and different art design. The 3 bonus track added were recorded at Niculina Recordings under the control and supervision of Santiago Campillo. In March, 2017 » Slappin’n’Flyin ‘ tour is presented » spreading out to the end of year with more than 50 concerts through Spanish geography. In that summer they record new videoclip for the song » Surfin’n’Swingin » in the coast of their region.
